The death of Fred L. Auer occurred
at the home of bis daughter. Mrs. F.
W. Sachtlbeen, corner of Second Avenue
and Third street East Sunday. December
29, at 1 a. m. The last services
will be held from the home Tuesday at
1 p. m.. and from the German Lutheran
church of which he was a member,
at 1:30 p m., Rev. Zimmermann
officiating.
Fred L. Auer was born in Germany
August 20, 1844. He came with his
parents to Carroll county, Illinois,
when seven years of age,and came to
this section about twelve years ago.
purchasing a farm near Westgate.
He has resided with his daughter in
this city for the past three months.
The cause of his death was liver
complaint.
June 18,1876 he was united in marriage
to Mrs. Adelheid Smith, and
to this union three children were
born, Carl, Mrs. Warren Gremmels
and Mrs. F. W. Sachtleben, all of
whom survive him. His wife died in
May 1902, and her death was a great
shock to him, as he has not enjoyed
good health since that time. He was
a man who numbered many friends,
and sympathy is expressed to the bereaved
children in their loss.
