Mrs. Catherine Rominger 1836-1903

Mrs. Catherine Rominger died
Monday, July 6th, at the home of
her daughter, Mrs. Len Winterowd,
in this city, aged 67 years and 8
months. The funeral occurred from
the residence on First Ave. N. at 10
o'clock today, Rev. Dillman Smith
officiating.
Catherine Snyder was born Nov.
7, 1836 in Foreyth county, N. C. In
1856, with her parents she moved to
Hope, Ind., where in March 1866
she was married to Thomas
Rominger. They moved to Marshall
county, Iowa, resided there
six years, and then moved to
Schyler, Neb. Her husband died in
1876, and with her children she came
to LeGrand, Iowa, where she remained
till 1896, since which time
she resided in Oelwein. Four children,
Mrs. May Hanlon, of Marshalltown,
Mrs. Tena Cronk, of
Sanborn. Iowa, Mrs. Ida Winterowd
and Thos Rominger, of this city, remain
to mourn her loss, also two
brothers, Charles Snyder, of Hope,
Ind., and R. A. Snyder, of Quarry,
Iowa, who were present at the
funeral. In her early youth Mrs.
Rominger united with the Moravian
church, and about ten years ago she
become connected with the M. E.
church. She died in the full faith
of a risen Redeemer.
