Elisha Badger 1925 - 1905

The death of Elisha Badger occurred
Monday afternoon at the family home
on Second Avenue East.
Mr. Badger was sick but a few moments.
He felt ill a short time after
dinner and some medicine was sent for
but he died before the medicine reached
the house.
Mr. Badger was well known in this
vicinity and was one of Oelwein's
esteemed citizens. He was the beloved
husband and father of a large family,
and deep sorrow was caused by
his death.
Elisha Badger was born in lower
Canada, November 19, 1825, and died
in Oelwein July 10, 1905, making him
79 years, 7 months and 21 days old.
He came to Illinois when he was 18
years of age, where he was united in
marriage to Miss Margarete Lindsay.
January 1, 1852. To this union was
born seven children, two boys and five
girls, all of whom survive their father.
Six of the children, Mrs. Geo.
Price, Mrs. Mae Wilkinson, Mrs. W. S.
Suiarzo, Mrs. J. D. Kline and the
two boys. Horace and Bert Badger are
all living in the vicinity of Oelwein,
and Mrs. F. S. Ross lives in Indianapolis,
Ind. The funeral will be held at
2 o'clock this afternoon at the house,.
Interment in the Oelwein cemetery.
