Funeral services for Ruby Holm were held Wednesday, July 8, 10:30 a.m. in the Highland Lutheran Church, rural Elgin, Iowa. The Rev. Ernest Thompson officiated. Schutte Funeral Service, Postville, Iowa was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the church cemetery. Casket bearers were Elmer Meyer, Neal Krieg, William Torkelson, Leonard Moore, Sylvan Torkelson, and Quinton Olson.

Ruby Josephine Holm, daughter of Andrew and Clara (Skarshoug) Reinhart, was born April 18, 1906 in Marion Township, Clayton County, Iowa. She died Friday, July 3, 1987 at the Good Samaritan Center in Postville, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed in the East Clermont Lutheran Church. She attended the Elgin Public High School and graduated with the Class of 1925. She married Selmer T. Holm on November 12, 1928 at the parsonage in Clermont, Iowa. They had 3 children. Ruby and Selmer farmed in Highland Township, Fayette County, Iowa for 24 years. They lived in Gunder, Iowa for 25 years. In 1976 they retired and moved to Postville, Iowa. Ruby became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in 1983. Ruby was a member of the Highland Lutheran Church and the American Lutheran Church Women since 1928. She served as President and Secretary of the ALCW for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Selmer, who died in 1978 and a sister, Helen I. Reinhart.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs. David (Betty) Taylor of Ventura, California, and Mrs. James (Elaine) Milne of Crystal Lake, Illinois, and a son, S. Roger Holm of Torrence, California; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
