Albert William Dugan, oldest son of Charles and
Lucretia Sprague Dugan, was born on a farm five
miles southeast of Oelwein, June 5, 1881 and
died at the home of his sister Mrs. Ivan Seal on
April 2, 1939, aged 57 years, 10 months, 28 days.

He received his education in the rural schools
and continued at the I.S.T.C. at Cedar Falls. With
a brilliant mind and a great ambition, he might
have gone far in his chosen profession but an
organic malady prevented.

After the death of his father, he remained home
with his mother helping her with the farm work
and during her last illness, he, with his sisters
and young brother cared for her most tenderly.
After his mother's death he made his home with
his brother Ross and family assisting as could with
the work of the farm.

A sister, Lucile Williams preceded him in death
some years ago.

Mourning his passing are his sisters Mrs. Ivan
Seal of Oelwein, Mrs. John Blethen, New Hampton,
Mrs. James Barrett, West Union, Blanche Dugan of
Oelwein, three nieces and seven nephews and two
grand nephews.

The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon,
April 4th from the Hintz Funeral Home. Fr. O'Hagen
conducted the services. Interment in Oakdale
cemetry.
