The last services for Daniel O'Leary
were held from the Sacred Heart
church at 9:30 Monday morning, Rev.
P. S. O'Connor conducting the services.
Interment followed in the Catliolic
cemetery. He passed away at his
home on Third Ave N Saturday, Aug-
ust 26 at 1:40 pm.
Daniel O'Leary was born in Ireland
November 14, 1831, and came to America
when a young man. Up to twenty six
years ago ho was a resident of
Chicago. He then came to Iowa and
located on a farm near Hazleton. In
1896 he came to Oelwein which has
since been his home. During most of
his residence in Oelwein he was in
the employ of the C. G. W. and was
a faithful employe.
Beside his wife there are left to
mourn his passing four daughters,
Mrs. Ed Nibeck, Mrs. Anna Merrill,
Catherine and Louise O'Leary, of Oelwoin,
and a son, Barney, of Kansas
City. There is also one sister, Mrs.
McDowell, of Chicago. There are three
grandchildren.
Although a man of advanced years,
nearly, he continued his employment
with the railway up to less than
ten years ago. For the past four years
he was confined to his home. Five
months ago he was taken critically ill,
and he fell into the last sleep Monday
morning.
He was a man who was friendly
and therefore made many friends. He
was well known in the city.
