Ernest A., son of William and
Fredricka Ritter Eschen, was born
at Mendota, III., on June 8, 1893.
and died July 18, 1961, at the age
of 68.
In 1910 he came to Iowa and
settled at Stanley, where on Dec.
16, 1915, he was married to Ruth
Brownell, who preceded him in
death on May 15, 1948. After her
death he came to Oelwein, which
had been his home ever since.
He is survived by two daughters
and four sons: Mildred (Mrs. Ivan)
Kaune of Randalia; Gordon of San
Leandro, Cal.; Willard of Glendora,
Calif.; Melvin of San Francisco,
Cal.; Verna of Arcadia, Cal..
and Victor of Cedar Falls; seventeen
grandchildren; two great
grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs,
Anna Cosselman of Oelwein. and
Mulda (Mrs. Harold) Wolfe of
Boone.
Funeral services were held, at
the Hintz Funeral Home on Friday,
July 21. at 2 p.m. Dr. L. W.
Hauter of Oelwein was in charge.
Interment was in Woodlawn cemetery.
