August H. Gosse, 86, 105 Tenth Avenue, S. W., died
Sunday at 10:30 at the home of his daughter, Mrs.
Harry McInnis. Gosse, a widower, was a retired
farmer.

Services are scheduled for Wednesday, July 20,
2 pm at Zion Lutheran Church, Oelwein. The Rev.
Gerhard Bunge will officiate. Arrangements are by
Hintz Funeral home. Body will be taken to the church
Wednesday noon to lie in state until hour of services.
Burial is in Woodlawn Cemetery.

August Gosse was born August 27, 1873 at Spring
Creek, Iowa, the son of Charles and Augusta Draeger
Gosse. He had been a resident of Oelwein 50 years.

He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Harry McInnis,
of Oelwein, Mrs. Gaines Knight of San Diego, Calif. and
Mrs. Walter Scanlan of San Diego; one grand daughter,
three grandsons and ten great grandchildren. Three
half-brothers, Rudolph Schmidtke and Albert Schmidtke,
of Oelwein and Fred Schmidtke of Washington state
also survive.
