Rev. Lee Genter officiated at the funeral service of Mildred E. Miner, of Fayette, Iowa, Tuesday August 2 at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, Fayette. Interment was in Grandview Cemetery, Fayette. Becker-Milnes funeral Service handled the arrangements. Casket bearers were Dr. Thomas Miner, Brooks Miner, Guy Miner, Rodney Miner, Gregory Miner, and Terry Lauer. Honorary bearers were Wade Miner, Douglas Miner, Shawn Miner, Michael Lauer, Aaron Mechtel, Dion Hegseth, and Jade Miller.

Mildred Esther, the daughter of Herman and Amelia (Thran) Voelker, was born August 26, 1912 in rural Fayette County, Iowa. She was baptized at Westgate, Iowa and confirmed in 1926 at Hope Lutheran Church, rural Westgate. She attended the rural Fayette County Schools. On February 22, 1933 she was united in marriage with Warren Miner at Hope Lutheran Church rural Westgate. The couple farmed for many years in the rural Randalia area prior to Mr. Miner's death in 1954. Mildred moved into Fayette in 1959 and worked as a baker at Upper Iowa University before retiring in 1975. In 1984 she became a resident of Waucoma Manor, Waucoma, Iowa.

Mildred's health began failing in March of this year and on Saturday, July 30, 1988 she died at her home in Waucoma. She was 75 years old and a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Fayette, Iowa. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents;one son, Robert Miner who died on Friday *date is not given but perhaps July 29, 1988*, and two sisters, Agnes and Malinda.

She is survived by four sons, Kenneth Miner, Fayette, Iowa, Donald Miner, Ankeny, Iowa, Duane Miner and Gerald Miner, both of Sumner, Iowa; two daughters, Barbara, Mrs. Gordon Lauer of West Union, Iowa and Shirley, Mrs. Charles Hegseth of Waucoma, Iowa; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Walter Voelker, Sumner, Iowa.
