Funeral services for Ida A. Schatz were conducted by Rev. Robert Salge at St.Peter Lutheran Church, Eldorado, Iowa, Monday March 14, at 11 a.m. Committal was in Eldorado Cemetery with pallbearers Glenn Wilson, Robert Hyman, Carl Wagner, Herman Helgerson, Arnold Saboe, and Howard Russler. Burnham-Wood Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Ida Anna Sophia (Marr) Schatz, daughter of Robert and Margaret (Adami) Marr, was born August 4, 1902 on a farm south of Eldorado. She was baptized August 17, 1902 by Rev. G. Blessin. Ida attended public and parochial school in Eldorado. She was confirmed April 1, 1917 in St.Peter Lutheran Church by Rev. G. Blessin.

On March 4, 1924 she was united in marriage to Gustav G. Schatz at St.Peter Lutheran Church, Eldorado. To this union one daughter, Betty was born. They farmed north of Eldorado until 1950 when they moved to West Union, Iowa. Ida was a member of St.Peter Lutheran Church in Eldorado all her life.

On February 5 she entered the Palmer Memorial Hospital and on March 10, 1988 she died at the age of 85 years, seven months, and five days. Preceding her in death were her parents, Robert and Margaret Marr; her husband, Gustav; one sister, Mrs. Laura Lauer and one granddaughter in infancy.

She is survived by her daughter, Betty, Mrs. Ernest Anfinson, West Union; three grandchildren, Richard, Larry, and Lynn Anfinson, and three great-grandchildren.
