The graveside service for David Arthur Helgerson was held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 9, 1989 at the Veterans Administration National Cemetery, Eagle Point, Oregon. Pastor Alan Jackson of Westminster Presbyterian Church officiated. Perl with Siskiyou Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.

David, 47, died Tuesday, June 6, 1989 at Providence Hospital, Medford, Oregon from a cerebral hemorrhage. He was born October 21, 1941 in Postville, Iowa to Arthur G. and A.Esther Helgerson. He moved to the Rouge Valley 14 years ago from California. He served 4 years in the U.S. Marine Corps as a teletype operator, serving in Vietnam and the Far East. At the time of his discharge, he was a lance corporal.

Survivors include a daughter, Dawnell Haynes, Gold Hill, Oregon; his parents, Arthur G. and A.Esther Helgerson of Clermont, Iowa; 3 sisters, Dorothy Oliphant and Sharon Helgerson-Dave, both of Colorado, Springs, Colorado, and Carol Madlon, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
