MAYNARD (Special)—Funeral
services for Mrs. George McLeish
were Wednesday at 2 p. m. at the
Maynard Presbyterian church.
Rev. S. R. Reed officiating. Mary
McLeish, daughter of John and
Jane McLeish. was born near
Rockford, Ill. Mar. 22, 1873 and
died Feb. 2, at the age of 74 years,
10 months and 10 days.
She was born and raised in
Illinois; coming to Iowa May 5,
1903 when she was married to
George McLeish. They made their
home on a farm south of Maynard
for fourteen years before moving
to their present home in Maynard.
To this union one son was born
but died at birth. They then adopted
a son, Harold, and a few years
later two orphaned sisters, now
Mrs. Florence Doerres, Lone Tree, IA
and Mrs. Gertrude Troupe of Oran.

For several years she was confined
to her home and to her bed
for the last eleven weeks.
Besides her husband, son and
daughters, she is survived by seven
grandchildren; two sisters. Mrs.
Jennie Hollenbeck and Mrs. Anna
Hemenway; one brother, Andrew
McLeish, all of Rockford, Ill. and
several nieces and nephews.
Internment was in Long Grove
cemetery.
