WEST UNION (special) ... Funeral services for Mrs. Thomas
Theobald, 83, were held Monday, Jan 3 in Holy Name
church. The Rev. E. L. Cooney conducted the services.

Pallbearers included six grandsons, Tom, Jack, Jerry and
Jim Theobald and Tom and Theobald Philips.
The daughter of Edward J. and Frances Cullins Coyne,
Alice Coyne Theobald was born October 7, 1865 in DeKalb,
Illinois. She was married to Thomas Theobald February 25,
1889 in Sycamore, Illinois.

They farmed near Kirkland until moving to Hawkeye in
1894. In January 1899 they moved to West Union where
Mr. Theobald died May 29, 1943.

She is survived by five children, Charles, Priest River,
Idaho; Tom, Oelwein; Mrs. W. L. Philips, West Union; Mrs.
J. M. Shields, Spokane, Washington; and Mrs. R. J. Fritsch,
Garner.

Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. E. B. McNeil, Belvidere,
Illinois, ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
