Eugene M. O'Donnell, 48, of Elkader, Iowa died Saturday, June 10, 1989 of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Waseca, Minnesota. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 15 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Elkader. Burial was in God's Acres Cemetery in Clermont, Iowa. Leonard-Witt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He was born November 7, 1940 in Alma, Iowa to Francis and Marie(Ferrie)O'Donnell. Eugene's mother, Marie, was also killed in this automobile accident. Eugene was first married to Maralyn Wiltgen in Waukon, Iowa. They divorced. His second marriage was June 15, 1987 to Nancy (Nelson) Falb. Both survive him. He was employed as an automobile salesman for Brown's Ford in Elkader.

Also surviving are two sons, Jim and Brent of Elkader; four daughters, Mrs. Kerry (Lisa) Jacobsen of Clermont, Iowa, Mrs. Matt (Michelle) Robbins of Elgin, Iowa, Mrs. Perry (Linda) Peterson of Polk City, Iowa, and Kimberly O'Donnell of Waukon, Iowa; a step-daughter, Tiffany Falb of Elkader; four grandchildren, two brothers, Russell of Alma, Iowa and Jerry of Cresco, Iowa; four sisters, Mrs. Joe (Ann) Neubauer and Mrs. Galen (Lavon) Fye, both of Cresco, Mrs. Don (Lois) Recker of North Mankato, MN, and Mrs. Tom (Mary Kay) Bucheit of Osage, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Jerome and his parents. Casket bearers were Thomas, Todd and Chris Fye, Brian Recker, Joseph Neubauer, Darren, Kelly, Michael, and Patrick O'Donnell, and Vance Zimmer. Honorary pallbearers were Jack Dittmer, Ernie McNeal, Swede Halvorson, and Bill Pfister.
