Services for Bjarne Alfred Larson who died November 18, 1989 at the Paler Lutheran Hospital, West Union, Iowa were held on November 21, 1989 at the Elgin Lutheran Church with burial at the Elgin Cemetery. Rev. Ernest Thompson conducted the services and the organist was Kendra Fauser. Pallbearers were: Jerry Parkin, Michael Parkin, Keith Larson, Chad Larson, Bryan Parkin, Keith Larson, Tim Larson, and LeRoy Holden.

He was born Feburary 13, 1911 in rural Clermont to Joseph and Borghild Larson. Most of his life was spent in the Elgin-Clermont area. He worked as a mechanic in the Elgin area for many years, was a local business man for twelve years and served as a police officer until his health forced him to retire. He married Renneta Ruroden on January 16, 1932.

He is survived by 4 children: Alta Parkin, LeClair, Iowa; Bernell Larson, Clinton, Iowa, Arthur Larson, Sumner, Iowa and Shirley Boese, Postville, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Arlene Erb of McGregor, Iowa.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Renneta, an infant daughter, 2 sisters, Megda and Lillian and two brothers Oscar Larson and Leonard Larson.
