Funeral services for Lois Halverson were held Friday, January 24, 1986 at Zion Lutheran Church, West Union, Iowa with Rev. Vic Baderschneider and Intern Ellen Dover presiding. Burial was in the West Union Cemetery.

Lois Ann (Hegland) Halverson, was born April 5, 1931 near Castalia, Fayette County, Iowa. She died Wednesday January 22, 1986 at her home in West Union. She was baptized in May 1931 at the Stavanger Lutheran Church, Ossian. She was confirmed April 12, 1944 at Zion Lutheran, West Union. She attended the public schools in Eldorado and West Union, where she graduated in 1949. On October 8, 1950 she was married to Dale Halverson at Zion Lutheran church, West Union. They were the parents of 6 children. She had been a member of Zion Lutheran, West Union since 1934 when she moved to West Union with her parents.

She is preceded in death by her parents.*The newspaper clipping does not list the names of her mother and father.* Survivors include her husband, Dale, 5 sons, Mark, Wadena, Iowa, Kent, West Union, Iowa, Bradley, Hawkeye, Iowa, David, Lawton, OK and Eric, West Union; 1 daughter, Jane (Mrs. Gene Ott), Spillville; 11 grandchildren; 1 brother, Oberlin Hegland, Decorah; 3 sisters, Mrs. Agnes Eide, Mrs.Marcella Bergeson and Mrs. Roger (Myrna) Sherman, all of West Union, Iowa.
