Funeral services for Mrs. William Wedo were held Wednesday, November 6, 1985 at 11 a.m. at the Clermont Funeral Chapel, Clermont, Iowa. The Rev. Kim Peterson officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville, Iowa was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in God's Acres Cemetery, Clermont.

Julia Eva Wedo, daughter of George and Elsie (McMartin) Kobriger was born January 25, 1904 at Castalia, Iowa. She died Saturday, November 2, 1985 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Postville. She was baptized September 1922 at the United Methodist Church in Castalia and confirmed January 19, 1947 at the West Clermont Lutheran Church. She attended elementary school at Castalia and graduated from Postville High School in 1922.

On April 30, 1927 she was married to William W. Wedo at Decorah, Iowa. They had 4 daughters. They lived on the farm northwest of the home farm 7 and a half miles northwest of Clermont from 1932 to 1978 when they moved to their present home in Clermont. In April they celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Donald Kobriger and Daniel Kobriger, 2 sisters, Florence Nelson and Mildred Tieskotter, a grandson, William Mitts, a grandson-in-law, Steven Owen, and a great-grandson Cory Olson.

Surviving besides her husband, William are her 4 daughters, Eileen (Mrs. Lyle Olson), Irene (Mrs. Dean Mitts) and Marilyn (Mrs. Arthur Schott) all of Clermont and Elsie (Mrs. Burdette Sebastian) of Postville; 24 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Hager of Castalia and Mrs. Ione Hoopman of Marion, Iowa in addition to several nephews, nieces and their families.

Julia was a member of the West Clermont Lutheran Church and the ALCW. She was an avid gardener and loved working with her flowers.
Casket bearers were: Michael Olson, Kenneth Lerch, Charles Mitts, Robert Schott, Craig Sebastian, Daniel Schott, Clair Tieskotter, and Gerald Hager.
