Edna M. Klingman, 92, of Elgin, Iowa, died Tuesday morning, February 25, 2003, at Palmer Lutheran Health Center, West Union, Iowa, following a brief illness. She was born August 20, 1910 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to Clarence L. and Mary (Campbell) Moulton. She graduated from West Union High School in 1927.

Edna worked as a telephone operator for sixteen years at Northwestern Bell in West Union. She married Edward Klingman on August 7, 1943 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Two children were born to this union. They lived in Ottumwa, Iowa for ten years prior to moving to Elgin. They owned and operated Klingman Clothing in Elgin for thirty-two years at which time they retired.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ed, on April 18, 1990, two brothers, Roy and Bob Burrett and two sisters, Alice Gaines and Burl Granger.

Survivors include a son, Ken (Linda) Klingman, Cedar Falls, Iowa; a daughter, Karen Klingman, Elgin; two grandson, Kyle Klingman, Newton, Iowa and Kevin Klingman, Cedar Falls and a sister, Clarice Medd, Burnsville, Minnesota.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 1, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at St.Paul's United Methodist Church, Elgin, Iowa. Officiating was Rev. Delbert Dawes. Music was provided by Connie Ellis, organist, and Arden Greener, soloist. The pallbearers were Mike Cline, Jeff Cline, Mike Friederich, Rick Whittle, Curtis Gilson, and Randy Torson. Interment was in the Elgin Cemetery, Elgin, Iowa. Leonard Funeral Home, Elgin, Iowa handled the arrangements.
