G Ervine Fenner whose illness we
have noted from time to time for the
past three months, died at the home
of his father, in South Oelwein last
Friday. Deceased was born at Anita,
Iowa, on July 16,1878, and when a
few years of age removed to Oelwein
with his parents, where he has since
lived up to the time of his death, his
case was a peculiar one is scarcely
without a parallel in medical science.
He was first taken with typhoid fever
about three months ago, from which
he so far recovered, in three weeks to
sit up, when he was taken worse, and
what the physcian called pus sacks,
that is something like a puff ball, began
to form on his person the first one
being on his neck, but gradually as the
weeks wore on extending down his
arms and legs and different parts of
his body, in which gather pus,
or putrid matter, and which on being
opened would leave a running sore.
These continued until the time of his
death at which time there was nearly
twenty of them, and one of which had
healed from its first appearance, and
they just sapped his life blood away.
When the end came he sank peacefully
and quietly away as if going to sleep
and even those who were close to his
bedside scarcely realized that his spirit
had taken its flight. The funeral services
were held at the M. E. church on Sunday
afternoon, being conducted by Rev. Rose,
and he was buried in the Oelwein cemetery.

CARD OF THANKS.
For the many Kind words and acts
of sympathy extended to me in the
severe affliction through which I have
recently passed in the loss of my son,
I extend my sincere thanks.
T. N. Fenner
