L. M. White, who has been a resident
of Oelwein since 1877, coming
here from New York State, died at
his home east of the B. C. E. & N.
depot, early Sunday morning. While
at work on his farm near Westgate,
Wednesday before his death, he was
stricken with paralysis, and was
brought home in an unconscious condition,
from which he never rallied except
for a few moments at a time, on
two occasions. Deceased was about
59 years of age, being born December,
1830. The funeral services were held
from the family residence Tuesday afternoon.
being conducted by Rev.
Conybeare, of the Presbyterian church,
and the remains were laid to rest in
the Oelwein cemetery, he leaves a
wife to mourn his loss.
