Robert J. Baumler, 80, of Creekside, Penn., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, at his home, surrounded by his family.

A memorial service was held Sunday, Oct. 10, at Bowser-Minich Funeral Home in Indiana, Penn., VFW Post 1989 provided military honors at the funeral home.

A private interment was held in the Whitesburg Cemetery.

Robert J. Baumler was born Aug. 13, 1930, in St. Lucas, Iowa, to Vincent and Ellen (Gager) Baumler.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

A lifelong resident of the Creekside area, Robert was employed as an electrician for 30 years with Perry & Megin Lumber Company in Whitesburg, Penn.

He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with this family.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; three sons, Ronald E. Baumler, Kenneth J. Baumler, and Gary L. Baumler; and a sister, Eleanor Molokken.

He is survived by his wife, L. Winifred (Erb) Baumler of Creekside; a daughter, Bonnie (David) Stewart of Shelocta, Penn.; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Rosalyn Lucas of Cresco, Virginia (Ed) Gage of Wadena, Waneta (Keith) Gage of Oelwein; two brothers, Richard (Sarah) Baumler of Warner Robins, Ga., and Charles (Patricia) Baumler of Wadena; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
