William Cheney, 62, of Oelwein
died Friday morning at St.
Mary's hospital, Rochester,
Minn.
The body will lie in state at the
Hintz Chapel where friends may
call after 10 a.m. Sunday.
Funeral services will be Monday
at 11 a.m. at the Hintz Funeral
Home, Oelwein and burial will be
in Woodlawn cemetery.
• William Cheney was born
October 23, 1910, and spent
almost all his life in Oelwein. He
was a pipefitter for the Chicago
Great Western Railroad. His wife
preceded him in death.
Surviving are two daughters:
Mrs. Greg (Mary) Gifford,
Waterloo; and Mrs. Dale (Judy)
Recker, Arlington; a son, Tom
Cheney, Marshalltown; six
grandchildren; two sisters: Mrs.
Ivan Older, Oelwein and Mrs.
Russell Carrol, Florida.
