Joyce A. Ramaker, 70, of Clermont, Iowa, died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010, at her home.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at West Clermont Lutheran Church, Clermont. The Rev. Dwight Albers officiated.

Burial followed in God's Acres Cemetery in Clermont.

Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Clermont was in charge of arrangements.

Joyce Amanda (Mabb) Ramaker was born Nov. 11, 1939, at home in Fayette to Lyle and Mildred (Woodson) Mabb.

She attended school in Clermont.

On Dec. 4, 1965, Joyce was united in marriage with Carl Ramaker at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They were the proud parents of three children.

Joyce and Carl ran a consignment shop and a flower shop.

Joyce had also worked at Jazzes Inn and Old Times, both in Clermont, the Clermont Pin Co., Iowa Turkey Plant in Postville, and Atwood in West Union.

Known as quite a prankster, Joyce enjoyed playing jokes on hospital staff during her stay in Rochester, Minn.

She liked attending parades, decorating, playing cards, watching car races and making sure everyone was well-fed. She loved to laugh, listen to polka and goof around. Most of all, she loved spending time with family and friends.

Preceding Joyce in death were her parents; her husband, Carl, on April 8, 2008; a brother, Gene Mabb; and a sister, Wanda Mabb.

Survivors include her three children, Pamela (Tony) Schlee of Elgin, Thomas Ramaker and Victoria Tash, both of Clermont; five grandchildren, Matthew MacTaggart, Melissa MacTaggart, Marshall MacTaggart, Thora Tash, Tomi Tash; two great-grandchildren, Caleb Hammel and Cashton MacTaggart-Kottman; two sisters, Joanne (Dennis) Dreier and Gail Herman, both of Clermont; a brother, Mervil (Lavonne) Mabb of Postville; and two special people, Bradley Normann and Shae Moncada.
