A memorial service for Lillian M. Robb, 88, of Fayette, Iowa, was held Saturday, Sept. 4, at First United Methodist Church in Fayette with the Rev. Jason Princer officiating.

Inurnment took place at Grandview Cemetery, Fayette.

Arrangements were handled by Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Fayette

Lillian's death occurred Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at Maple Crest Manor in Fayette after a long illness.

Lillian Marie Robb was born Jan. 6, 1922, in Lime Springs. She was the daughter of Emmett and Ruth (Mead) Holcomb.

She graduated from Lime Springs High School in 1939.

Lillian was united in marriage with Lyle H. Robb on July 5, 1947, in Papillion, Neb. The couple resided in Des Moines until July 1960, when they moved to Fayette after purchasing University Cleaners, which they operated together until 1990.

After her husband's death on Dec. 26, 1990, Lillian volunteered at several places, including Maple Crest Manor and Prairie View Residential Care Facility in Fayette, Palmer Lutheran Health Center in West Union, and Grandview Nursing Home and the Oelwein Healthcare Center in Oelwein.

Lillian was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fayette.

In addition to her husband, Lyle, she was preceded in death by her parents; a great-grandchild; and a brother, Wilbur Holcomb.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan (Stan) Woodson, and a son, Steven Robb, both of Fayette; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Laura Cornell of Tipton.
