Helen A. Brundidge, 79, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, formerly of West Union, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a two-year fight with colon cancer.

Services were held Tuesday, Aug. 31, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial was in Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Helen Arlene "Sandy" (Wickham) Brundidge was born to John Wallace Wickham and Vivian Lucille (Shook) Wickham on Jan. 8, 1931, in West Union. She moved with her family to Cedar Rapids at the age of 13.

Helen was married to Paul F. Brundidge in 1946 in Clinton.

She worked for Wilson and Farmstead for a combined 27 years.

Preceding Helen in death were her parents; her husband, Paul; a grandson; two brothers, Donald Wallace and Robert Wickham; four sisters, Ruth Aanes, Margaret "Bea" Miller, Hope Blackwell, and Barbara Sheppard; and a half sister, Lillian St. John.

Surviving are Sandra (Lyle) Chapman of Center Point, Paula (Jerry) Bruner, Sherry (Ed) Voelpel, Debbie (Doug) Phillips, Louie Brundidge, Kathy (Thomas) Patrick, all of Cedar Rapids; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
