Mrs. Anthony (Vernetta M.)
Gerstenberger, 71, 215 5th St.
NW, died Saturday morning at
Mercy Hospital of Franciscan
Sisters in Oelwein. She was a
longtime Oelwein area resident
and was a retired City Laundry
employee.
Funeral services will be held 2
p.m. Tuesday at Brant-Kerns
Funeral Home in Oelwein with
the Rev. John Kerr officiating.
Burial will be in Woodlawn
Cemetery, Oelwein.
She is survived by her husband,
Anthony, one son Archie Lee
Gerstenberger, Clio, Mich.; two
daughters, Mrs. Gus (Delila) Gardow,
Guttenberg and Mrs. Ervin (Joann)
Sadler, Oelwein; seven grandchildren.
Other survivors include three
brothers, Andrew McLeish, Oelwein,
Elmer McLeish, Loveland, Colo. and
Charles McLeish, Hawkeye; and one
sister, Fred (Margaret) Hughson,
Oelwein.
Preceding her in death were her
parents and one sister.
