The death of Mrs. Frank Carpenter
occurred at the family residence in this
city Thursday morning at 1 o'clock.
She had been afflicted for the past two
years with a cancer, and died of hemorrhage.
She was 42 years 5 months,
and 27 days of age at the time of
death, and had been a resident of this
city for a number of years, Mr. Carpenter
being an engineer running on
the north-western division of the C. G. W.
She was born in Dubuque and resided
there till the family came to Oelwein.
She left a husband and son to
mourn her loss. The remains were
taken to Dubuque Sunday morning,
where the funeral and interment occurred.
Sympathy is extended to them
in their bereavement.
