Death Of Mrs. Edward Shader.
Mrs. Edward Shader died at the
family residence in Oelwein Sunday at
10 a. m.from a complication of diseases.
The last services occurred yesterday
afternoon from the Christian
church, of which she was a member,
the pastor, Rev. J. T. Shreve officiating.
Alice Schappy was born in Clayton
county, Iowa, February 25, 1854.
She was united in marriage to Edward
Shader February 15, 1875, and they
moved to Oelwein eighteen years ago.
Two children who survive her were
born to this union, Boy Shader and
Mrs. Elmer Kirkpatrick, both residents
of this city. She was a good Christian
wife and mother, and the sympathy of
many friends is extended to the stricken
family. Mr. Shader is a member of
the Railway Carmen, and a delegation
of that order attended the funeral, as
did also a number of the Woodworkers,
of which the son is a member. Beautiful
floral offerings were bestowed by
these orders, and by various friends of
the deceased.
