Norma E. Arnold...
WALKER — Norma E. Arnold, 86, died Saturday, Aug. 24, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at the Cono Bible Presbyterian Church, Walker, with burial in Rowley Cemetery.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday at the White Funeral Home, Independence. She was born Oct.3, 1915, in Liberty Township, Buchanan County, to Harry and Mae Gleerup Jensen. She worked as an electrician manufacturing airplanes in St. Paul, Minn., during World War II.
On Oct. 3, 1946, she and Herbert Jacob Arnold were married at Independence. They operated a chicken and egg operation on their farm near Walker. She was also a bookkeeper for Cono Press and Cono Christian School in Walker.
Survivors include two sisters, Mildred Smith of Ames and Velma Boelter of Rowley; seven nephews; three nieces; and two adopted children, Richard Arnold and Man Sue Alexander, both of Oregon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three brothers, Elmer, Donald and Everett Jensen (in infancy).
