MONDAY SERVICES FOR E. NEFZGER
Funeral services were held Monday for Elmer Simon Nefzger at the Belles- Wright Funeral Home with Rev. James Dale officiating. Burial was at Grandview Cemetery.
Nefzger passed away June 8 at the Palmer Memorial Hospital, West Union, at the age of 80. A lifetime resident of the Fayette-Albany area, and retired farmer, he was born Oct. 28, 1892, the son of Henry Simon and Margaret Hamrick Nefzger. On Jan. 19, 1915 he was united in marriage to the former Eva Pearl Scott. To this union, seven children were born.He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Essie; one son Dale, and one granddaughter Shelly.
He is survived by his wife; four sons, Doyle of West Union, Duane (Bud) of Oelwein, Robert of Fayette, and Paul (Dick) of Independence; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Opal) Pixler of West Union and Mrs. Gordon (Joan) Smith of Fayette; one sister Mrs. James (Maude) McCarron, Fayette; one brother, Floyd of Brookfield, IL; fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Gene Singer, Robert Landas and Russell Dickinson of Fayette, Paul Oelberg of West Union, and Wayne Kane and Alfred Hansen of Oelwein.
