Wanda L. Doty ... OELWEIN — Wanda L. Doty, 81, of Oelwein, died Friday morning, Dec. 24, 2004, at the Country View Care Center in rural Waterloo, after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, at the Jamison- Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein, with the Rev. Darwin Moore officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 until 6 p.m. Monday, and after 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Wanda Lee Hines was born Jan. 1, 1923 at Oelwein, the daughter of Rufus and Nevada (Webster) Hines. She married Wallace Keith "Mike" Doty on Dec. 16, 1961 at Oelwein. She was a longtime Oelwein resident and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Wanda had been a resident of the Country View Care Center for the last six years. Survivors include three daughters, Charolette Granberg of Oelwein, Barbara Petersen and Darlene Condon, both of Martelle; one son, Warner "Bud" Stoner of Jesup; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Dorothy Markley of Hawkeye and Leta Fauser of Waterloo. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mike, 1 Jan. 30, 1975; a son, Allen Stoner: three brothers, Dell, Harold and Alvin; a grandson, Victor Stoner; and a great-grandson, Joshua Kleppe. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
