Betty Gail Miller Brant, 87, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away Monday, July 5, 2010, at her residence.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 9, at the First Presbyterian Church in Marshalltown. The Rev. Rich King will be officiating. Inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown.

Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, at Pursel Davis Funeral Home in Marshalltown. A memorial has been established in her name to the Marshalltown Cardiac Cath Lab.

Betty was born March 4, 1923 in Marshalltown to Glenn and Pauline (Feemster) Johnson. She was educated in the Oelwein schools graduating from Oelwein High School in 1941. She was united in marriage to Donald W. Miller on Nov. 27, 1941 in Oelwein. He passed away Nov. 8, 1979. She later married Gordon Brant May 4, 1997 in Marshalltown. He passed away Sept. 20, 2008. She was primarily a homemaker while her children were at home, then was employed with Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center as a unit secretary.

She enjoyed playing bridge and completing crossword puzzles. Later in life she loved to travel with her friends. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Marshalltown, a 65-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and the National TTT Society.

Betty will be missed by her sons, Alan (Maria) Brant of Pacifica, Calif., Burke (Dixie) Brant of Houston, Texas, daughter-in-law Sally Miller of Marshalltown; five grandchildren, Michael (Jennifer) Miller, Susan (Terry) Brennan, Carolyn (Nick) Loney, Nicolette (Jim) Gribnitz, Angela (Todd) Belcher; 13 great grandchildren; and one sister; Janet (Lou) Stessl of Chicago. She was preceded in death by both husbands, a daughter Karen Miller, and a son Gregg Miller.
