Funeral services for Raymond D. Erhardt were held Tuesday, March 22, 1990 at 11:00 a.m. in the West Clermont Lutheran Church at Clermont. The Rev. Donald Loots officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Clermont was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the God's Acre Cemetery, Clermont.

Raymond David Erhardt, son of David and Ida (Burrow) Erhardt, was born July 18, 1904 near Elgin in Pleasant Valley Township, Fayette County, Iowa. He died at Lutheran Hospital, LaCrosse, WI on March 20, 1990 where he had been hospitalized.

He was baptized in the Baptist Church, Elgin, IA and confirmed at West Clermont Lutheran Church. He received his education in the rural schools of Fayette County.

On August 9, 1945 he married Sadie Peterson at the Little Brown Church at Nashua, IA. The couple farmed in the Clermont and Elgin areas until their retirement to Elgin in 1969.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, Fred, and a sister, Clara Kostman.

Survivors include his wife, Sadie; a brother, Frank of Jesup; and 4 sisters, Florence Ashbacher of Waukon; Frances Drier and Marion (Mrs. Fay Wickham) both of Postville; and Anna Mae Newton of Waterloo, IA.

Raymond was a member of the West Clermont Lutheran Church where he had served on the church council and as an usher for many years. Farming was a must with Raymond.

Honorary casket bearers were Richard Friederich, Elmer Lantz, Howard Learn and Laverne Hyde.

Casket bearers were Phil Ruckdaschel, Gregg Kleppe, Douglas Appelman, Robert Johnson, Robert Swenson and Phil Metzger.
