Evelyn M. Gramenz, 84, of rural Hazleton,
died Friday, Feb 27, 2004, at her home following a sudden
illness.
Funeral Services will be held today, Monday, March 1, 10:30
a.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Independence, with
Pastor Tom Jones officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence.
She was born on May 10, 1919, in Randalia, the daughter of
Arthur Augustus and Lois Fern (Cook) Sorg. She graduated
from high school in Maynard. On Feb. 15, 1942, she and
Lawrence Westphal Gramenz were married in Independence.
They farmed in Buchanan County. He preceded her in death in
1955.
She is s u r v i v e d by her son, Ronald L. Gramenz of rural
Hazlelon, two granddaughters, Kimberly Edgren of Helotes,
Texas, and Traci Gramenz of Hazleton, three great
granddaughters.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her
parents and a sister, Caryl Eikenberry.
