Anna M. Kurth 1925-2010

Anna M. Kurth, 84, formerly of St. Olaf, died Monday, March 8, 2010, at the Elkader Care Center.

Funeral services were held March 11, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Norway Lutheran Church, rural St. Olaf, with burial in the Norway Lutheran Cemetery.

Anna M. Kurth was born in Clermont, on September 20, 1925, to Edwin and Anna (Anderson) Gunderson. Anna graduated from Clermont High School. She was united in marriage to Glen Kurth on September 25, 1946. They farmed their entire life in Wagner Township.

Anna enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting and reading autobiographies. In her last years, she enjoyed bingo, special music and activities at the care center.

She is survived by her children, Gary (Anne) Kurth of Luana, Ramona (Mark) Benson of Elgin, Kurtis Kurth of Prairie du Chien, WI; grandchildren, David Kurth of St. Olaf, Corey (Tori) Benson of Middleton, WI, Angela (Jason) Hill of DeWitt, Nicholas (Meg) Benson of Clermont, Alisha (Shawn) Merwin of Prairie du Chien, WI, Kari (Cliff) Suhr of Ankeny, Michelle (Kyle) Timmerman of Durant, Brittney Kurth of Waterloo and seven great-grandchildren.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in December of 1991, and two brothers, Emmett Gunderson and Martin Gunderson.
