Margaret Joan Wander, 70, of 302 Second St. NE, Mason City, died March 18, 2003, at the Musr Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 22, 2003, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, Mason City. Interment was at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Margaret was born Aug. 13, 1932 in Mason City, the daughter of Lynn and Orabelle (St. Peter) Morse. She graduated from Mason City High School.

Margaret was united in marriage to Gene E. Wander on November 14, 1959, in Mason City. She worked at SS Kresge and Risto Inc., as well as along with her husband in the family trucking business. In the 1970's Margaret was known as the Wander Woman on the CB radio.

She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She worked wedding receptions and showers, and enjoyed having coffee with her friends and family. Her greatest joys were her children, grandchildren and host of friends & relatives.

Margaret is survived by her children, John "Jack" (Sharon) Wander of Elmore, MN, Allen Wander of Mason City, Lynn (Dan) Hedrick of Plymouth, Kent (Lori) Wander of Mason City; stepbrother, Gary (Sharon) Morse of Ladysmith, WI; grandchildren, Travis, Nathan, Jared, Ashley, Adam, Amber, Desiree and Sabre Wander, Dusty and Lissa Hedrick; brother-in-laws, Duane Wander, and fiance' Pam, of Riverside, CA;
Keith Wander of Clermont; sister-in-laws, Sandra Wander and Linda (Jerry) Anderson of Clermont.

Margaret was proceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene in 1977; brother, Robert Morse, and grandchildren Janice Wander and Nicholas Wander.
