George O. Larson

Funeral services were held Thursday, August 22, at the West Clermont Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m. for George O. Larson, 68, who died August 19, Independence. The Rev. Clarence Johnson was in charge with burial in God's Acre Cemetery, Clermont.

Mr. Larson spent most of his life in and around Clermont and was engaged in farming after his discharge from the U. S. Navy in 1923, after serving four years.

He is survived by his widow, Nora; five children, three daughters, Gerene (Mrs. Paul Sawvell) and Rose (Mrs. Larry Thorn), both of Waterloo, and Karen (Mrs. Donald Dunlap), Independence; two sons, George Jr., Clermont and Larry at home; two brothers, Louie of Oelwein and Fred, Waterloo; and four sisters, Rose (Mrs. Robert Bullock), Des Moines; Mrs. Clara Meyer, Mason City; Mrs. Bessie Loftsgard, Elgin; and Emma Larson, Clermont.
