A funeral mass for Mrs. Susanna Larson was held Monday, November 20, 2000, at 11 a.m. in St. Peter's Catholic church at Clermont, Iowa. Casket bearers were Steve, Tom, Mark and Nathan Ackerman, Joel Heuer and Rodney Nothwehr. The Schutte Funeral and Cremation Service of Clermont was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in St. Peter's Cemetery at Clermont.

Susanna Gretchen (Priest) Larson, the daughter of Anson John and Katherine Elizabeth (McGreevy) Priest, was born September 24, 1911, at Clermont, Iowa. She passed away Friday, November 17, 2000 in Palmer Lutheran Health Center at West Union, Iowa. She had reached the age of 89 years, 1 month and 23 days.

She was baptized, made her first communion, and was confirmed at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Clermont. To this union two children were born, Kathryn and Lyle. The family farmed in the Clermont area until 1957. They moved to Clermont where Susanna was employed by Griebenow's Grocery Store. She became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in Postville on October 8, 1998.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George V. Larson, who died April 26, 1991, one great granddaughter, Amber, and a sister, Elizabeth Priest.

Surviving her are a daughter, Kathryn (Clifford) Ackerman of Allison, Iowa; a son, Lyle (Virginia) Larson of St. Charles, Illinois; 8 grandchildren: Steve (Jennifer) Ackerman, Tom (Teresa) Ackerman, Mark (Karen) Ackerman, Kathy Jo (Joel) Heuer, Teresa (Rodney) Nothwehr, Brent (Tiffany) Larson, Alicia Larson and Kimberly Larson; 10 great grandchildren: Alison, Stevie, Abby, Sadie, Autumn, Jacob, Ben, Nathan, Krista and Katie; a sister-in-law, Ruth Lyngaas.
