Junanne J. Bakewell, 58, West Union, Iowa, formerly of Clermont, died Sunday, April 4, 2010, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, following a brief illness.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 8, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Clermont. The Rev. Don Bakewell was the celebrant.

Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Clermont was in charge of arrangements.

Junanne Jon Bakewell was born May 25, 1951, in Postville to John Michael and Joycelyn Marilyn (Engle) Bakewell.

She graduated from Valley High School with the class of 1969. She also graduated from the University of Iowa with Bachelor of Arts degrees in journalism and psychology.

Junanne loved participating in musicals. She was a member of the Old Gold Singers at the University of Iowa and several different bands over the years.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Junanne was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Jacquelyn Bakewell; and her paternal and maternal grandparents.

Survivors include her brother, John (Deborah) Bakewell of Collierville, Tenn.; a niece, Christine Bakewell; and a nephew, John Michael Bakewell.
