Ronald Gayle Lyngaas 1939-1977

Funeral services were conducted Monday, February 28 at 1:30 p.m. at the East Clermont Lutheran Church, for Ronald G. Lyngaas who died February 25 at Community Memorial Hospital, Postville. He had been taken ill at home that day. The Rev. Clarence Johnson officiated.

Born May 6, 1939 on a farm in Grand Meadow township, Clayton county, Iowa, Ronald Gayle was the son of Ewald and Ruth (Larson) Lyngaas. He was baptized and confirmed at the East Clermont Church. He attended the Larabee school near Clermont and was among the last class to graduate from the Clermont school before it became the Valley school.

Before coming to Postville in 1965, where he became associated with the Triem Ford Agency, he had worked at service stations spending five years with Kjosa DX at Clermont. Lyngaas purchased the Ford agency in 1969. Lyngaas was currently a member of the Postville City Council.

He was married to Phyllis Bugenhagen November 6, 1965 at the Fremont Lutheran Church, Cresco. She survives, together with a son Lonnie; his parents of Clermont; a nephew, Leslie Hovden and a niece Cathy Hovden, both of Ridgeway and many aunts and uncles.

Interment was in the East Clermont Lutheran Church cemetery.
