Vivian Eileen Larson, daughter of Peter and Alta Hanson, was born January 29, 1919 at Eldorado, Iowa, and died Sunday, November 7, 1976, in her home near Elgin.

Vivian was baptized and confirmed in St. John's Lutheran Church in Eldorado, Iowa. Except for the past ten years she has lived most of her adult life in the West Union area.

On November 18, 1967, she was united in marriage to Russell D. Larson; and to this family one son, Gregory Wayne Larson, was born.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Elgin, where she has been a Church School teacher, and was serving as a substitute teacher. At the time of her death, she was getting ready to go to church.

She was also a member of the Independent Order of Foresters. She was employed by the Brown Clothing Store in West Union. Vivian enjoyed her home and was happy to give of her strength and time to family and others.

Preceding her in death were her parents, one sister, Agnes Erickson and one infant daughter, Cinda Sue Winter.

Surviving her are her husband Russell and son Gregory Larson; four daughters, Sharon (Mike) Schroyer of West Union; Linda (Larry) Larson of Waverly, Connie Winter of Coraville and Lisa Winter at home; four step daughter, Mrs. Rick Banhart of Cedar Rapids, Mary Larson of Davenport, Kathy Larson of Cedar Falls, and Pam Larson of Greene, Iowa; five sisters and a brother: Mrs. Arnold Jacobson of West Union, Mrs. Bill Meyer of Eldorado, Mrs. Lester Suckow of Frankville, Mrs. Bert Kleppe of West Union, Mrs. Bud Ishman of Iowa City and Ralph Hanson of Waterloo; four grandchildren: Michelle and Chad Schroyer and Jennifer and Heather Larson.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 10 at 1:30 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Parris officiating.

Casket bearers were Leslie Lembke, Dan Butikofer, Harry Butikofer, Ben Hunsberger, Jacob Schneider and Clifford Gisleson. Burial was in the Elgin Cemetery.
