Final rites were conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday from Bethel United Presbyterian church for Perry Wagner, 73, who died Christmas in Palmer Memorial hospital following a short illness. Rev. William R. Jones officiated and interment was in West Union cemetery, with Burnham-Wood Funeral home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Neil Vine, Calvin Bemiss, D.C. Malquist, Robert Burrett, Lionel Weston and Allen Weston.

Perry Richard Wagner was born to Helen Tollefson Wagner and Charles Ernest Wagner Nov. 15, 1899, near West Union, Iowa, and one of three children.

He was educated in West Union rural schools and in specialist and supervisory schools of the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company.

On Dec. 27, 1924, he was married to Frances Agnes Chensvold in West Union. To them were born two sons, Robert and Donald.

For over 40 years he was an employee of Northwestern Bell, being a line supervisor many years. He was a member of the "Telephone Pioneers" club, for members with over 21 years of service.

He joined the West Union, No. 69, A.F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge, being a member of the Blue Lodge. He was a member of the Bethel United Presbyterian Church, having joined on March 30, 1934.

He died Dec. 25 at Palmer Memorial Hospital after a very short illness.

He is survived by his wife, Frances; his sons, Robert, Davenport, and Donald, Des Moines, by his daughters-in-law and his seven grandchildren, also two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Nesvik and Mrs. Clarence Anfinson.
