Funeral services for Lois B. Fritz were held Monday, Oct. 10, 1983 at the Bethel United Presbyterian Church in West Union. The Rev Richard Menzel officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the West Union Cemetery.

Lois Bell Fritz, daughter of Elbert and Laura (Parrott) Helmer, was born November 7, 1895 at West Union, Iowa. She passed away October 6, 1983 at Community Memorial Hospital in Postville.

She attended school in West Union. On Sept. 26, 1918 she was married to Walter G. Fritz at West Union. To this union two children were born.

They farmed most of their life in Fayette County. In 1968 they moved to West Union where they lived for 11 years, moving to Postville in 1979.

Lois was a 50-year member of the Bethel United Presbyterian Church in West Union, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Clermont.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Arthur and Russel, two sisters, Gladys Helmer and Marian Logan and a grandson, Wayne Allen Friederich.

Surviving are a son, Lawrence of Auburn, AL; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Ila Mae) Friederich, Luana; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and two sisters, Josephine Powers, Prairie du Chien, WI; and Mrs. Carl (Grace) Westpfahl, Oelwein.
