Horace Raymond Morse, son of William and Ruzzila Morse, was born near Brainard, Iowa, April 20, 1909. He died at the Good Samaritan Home in West Union Thursday, August 10, 1967, following a long history of heart trouble, at the age of 58 years.

He spent his entire life in the vicinity of Fayette County and was received into the membership of St. Paul's Methodist Church of Elgin by Confession of Faith April 6, 1952, under the ministry of the Rev. E. G. Steinman.

In June, 1935, he was united in marriage to Thelma Boehmler. She died May 13, 1962. They were engaged in farming.

To this union three daughters were born: Mary, Mrs. Richard Jarms of Helena, Mont.; Jean, Mrs. Leonard Schutte of Castalia, and Patricia, Mrs. Adrian Carolan of Dubuque.

His wife, parents, and two sisters, Maxine, Mrs. Clarence Wickham, and Hilda, Mrs. L. Jacobson, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his daughters; four brothers, Vivian, Wesley, Lorenzo and Kenneth; three sisters, Roxanne, Mrs. Joe Ward, Esther, and Violet, Mrs. John Franks; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
