Gerald Gutcher Services Held Friday

Funeral services for Gerald Gutcher, 99 Clermont, were held Friday Feb. 2, at 10 a.m. in St. Paul United Methodist Church at Elgin. Rev. Judy Deweber officiated. Interment was in Gods Acre Cemetery, rural Clermont. Schutte Funeral Service of Clermont was in charge of arrangements.

Gerald Gutcher died Friday, Jan. 26, 1996 at Palmer Lutheran Health Center, West Union.

Gerald Earl Gutcher, son of William and Rose (Wells) Gutcher, was born Nov. 26, 1907 in Hazleton. He attended school at Clermont.

Gerald was employed by Interstate Power Company as a line crew foreman. After 27 years of service, he retired in December of 1969.

On July 4, 1930 he was married to Florence Monroe in the Little Brown Church at Nashua. To this union three sons were born. Florence and Gerald lived in Clermont all their married life.

Gerald was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Elgin; and an active volunteer worker in the Boy Scouts of America.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Florence; two brothers, Chris and Clayton Gutcher; two sisters, Neva Arends and Wilma Tate.

He is survived by his three sons, Donald, Salem, Ore., David, Redmond, Ore., and Duane, Coolidge, Ariz.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rosanna Aston, Ardmore, Okla.
