Mildred Blue (1917-2009)
West Union-Mildred Blue, 92, of West Union, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, at Palmer Lutheran Health Center of age-related causes.
She was born July 2, 1917, in West Union, daughter of Burice and Gladys Shook Daniels. She married Elmer Blue on Oct. 7, 1936, in Elkader. He preceded her in death.
She worked at Tony's Foods for several years, then began working at the Fayette County Union, where she was employed until retirement.
Survived by: a son, Gerald "Jerry" (Donna) of West Union; two daughters, Irene (Russell) Lauer and Sharon Blue, both of West Union; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Blue of Dearborn Heights, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; and several great-and great-great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: a son, Victor; and two brothers.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church, West Union, with burial in West Union Cemetery. Public visitation for an hour before services Friday at the church.
