Chilton C. Goede 1921 - 1962

Funeral services for Chilton
Goede, 41, 417 3rd Ave. S.E., Oelwein,
will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday
at First United Presbyterian
church with the Rev. Richard. B.
Emery officiating.
Mr. Goede, a supervisor at City
Laundering Co., died at Mercy
hospital Thursday. He is survived
by his widow, Lorna; five sons,
John, Scott, Timothy, James, Todd
and two daughters, Patricia and
Deborah, all at home.
Also surviving are his stepmother,
Mrs. Marjorie Goede,
Waukcgan, Ill.; a sister sister Mrs.
Alta Schweigert, E. Lansing, Mich,
and two brothers, Gordon and Darrel,
both of Minnesota and a half
sister, Wilma Goede, Illinois.
Mr. Goede had been a resident
of Oelwein 14 years. Brant Funeral
Home has charge of arrangements
and burial will be in Woodlawn
cemetery.

CHILTON C. GOEDE, son of Martin
and Edna Goede, was born,
April 21, 1921 at Greene. From
there the family moved to California
and then to Waukon where
he spent his boyhood days. He was
known as "Chile" to his family
and friends.
He graduated from Waukon high
school and Waukon Junior college
and attended the Slate University
of Iowa for three years. He was employed
with Globe Machinery Co. in
Cedar Rapids and later moved to
Oelwein where the family has
lived the past 14 years. At the
time of his death he was a route
supervisor for City Laundering Co.
He is survived by his widow,
Lorna; five sons, John, Scott, Timothy,
James and Todd; two daughters,
Patricia and Debroah; his
stepmother, Mrs. Marjorie Goede;
half sister, Wilma of Waukegan,
Ill.: a sister, Mrs. Alia Schweigert,
East Lansing, Mich., and two brothers,
Gordon, Morristown, Minn, and
Darrell of Hutchinson, Minn.
Chilton died at Mercy hospital
Thursday, Aug. 23 at the age of
41. Funeral services were held
Aug. 20 at the First United Presbyterian
church with Rev. Richard
Emery officiating. Jesse Knight
sang "The Lord's Prayer" with
Mrs. William Hoffman as organist.
Pallbearers were Al Youngblut,
Paul Bruner, Mel Roeder, G. R.
Wetlaufer, Cletus Huffman and
Tom Theobald.
