Wednesday services have been
scheduled for Mrs. Effie Kuhns, 78.
The Rev. William D. Scott, pastor
of First Baptist church, will officiate
at the 2 p. in. service at Brant
Funeral chapel. Burial will be at
Woodlawn cemetery.
Mrs. Kuhns died at Mercy hospital
Monday at 4 p. m. She was a
lifetime resident of Oelwein and
resided at 10 10th Ave. N. W.
Surviving are one son, Paul, at
home. and two daughters, Marjorie,
Mrs. George Rees. and Alice, Mrs.
Dale Cumberledge, both of Oelwein.
Also, one brother, William
Weatherbee, Oelwein, and one sister,
May, Mrs. David Graham, Clinton.
Five grandchildren and three
great grandchildren and a daughter-
in-law, Mrs. Miriam Kuhns, Oclwein,
also survive.
Mrs. Kuhns was preceded in
death by her husband, Edward, in
1957 and by a son, Joe E., in 1958;
three sisters and one brother.
She was born in Fayette county
Oct. 9. 1882, the daughter of Perry
and Frances Myers Weatherbee.
The body lies in state at Brant
Funeral Home.
