HAZLETON (Special) - Cora Zimmerman was born June 22, 1876, in Fayette County, Iowa. She was the only daughter of J. Q. and Delila Zimmerman. She died at her home in Hazleton, March 23, 1946, at the age of 69 years, 9 months, 1 day. Her early life was spent in Fayette County and the last twenty-nine years in Hazleton.

On October 6, 1897 she was united in marriage to Lyman Judd who preceded her in death Nov. 19, 1941. To this union were born five children: Mrs. Cella Schermerhorn, of Hazleton; Lila, of Charion; Mrs. Dorothea Odell, of Los Angeles, California; and Mrs. Nora Carroll, of Portland, Oregon. One son Darrell, preceded her in death March 29, 1919.

She leaves to morn her passing her four daughters, six grandchildren, one brother J. Q. Zimmerman, and two half sisters, Mrs. Albert Downing and Mrs. Henry Brickman, all of Oelwein, Iowa. She has been a member of the Methodist church since early childhood, also a member of the Women’s Relief Corps for over twenty-five years. She was an active worker in all church activities when her health permitted.

For the past eight years she has made a home for her aged stepfather who passed away December 28, 1945.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Methodist church with Rev. De Witt Clinton officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery near Westgate.

Casket bearers were Albin L. Holmstrom, Frank Moore, Alva Allen, Herbert Worman, Perry C. Pollock and Bert Brown.
