MRS. ANNA CHANDLER

WEST UNION -- Mrs. Anna Elizabeth Tremmel Chandler, daughter of Francis and Caroline Tremmel, was born June 7, 1852 [should be 1862], at Iowa City. She lived at Iowa City until 1883, then moved to Cedar Rapids. There she was united in marriage to F. C. Chandler on June 12 1884. Three children, two sons and a daughter, were born to them.
In 1884 Mr. and Mrs. Chandler moved to West Union. They returned to Cedar Rapids in 1888, but after one year came back to West Union and Mr. Chandler was engaged in business until the time of his death, which occurred in July of 1923.
Mrs. Chandler was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for many years and a charter member of the Royal Neighbors. She enjoyed good health until about two years ago. She became seriously ill last August, and entered Good Samaritan home, where her death occurred Jan. 29 at the age of 89 years, seven months and 22 days. She was the last of a family of seven children.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Collins, West Union, several neices [sic] and nephews. Her husband, two sons, Fredel Francis, who died at the age of six, and Earl William, who died Nov. 4 1945, three brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
